Built from rectilinear orthotropic plies with a general lay-up the face sheets are modelled using the classical lamination theory, whereas the core is a homogeneous isotropic 3D elastic medium. The debonded region is free of interfacial shear, but can transmit vertical compression. Field equations are stated in terms of the core displacements and shear stresses. The sets of partial differential equations with variable coefficients are solved by means of the Galerkin method with truncated Fourier series in circumferential direction and multiple-points shooting in radial direction.
