Different kinds of ``sets'' are discussed, especially their limitations. Special attention is paid to the fuzzy sets and to the rough sets (a pity that some approaches to sets are not included, e.g., alternative set theory of Vopěnka). In the setting of fuzzy sets and of rough sets, power set and Cartesian product constructions are proposed, as well as the principle of comprehension. An essential difference between the theories of fuzzy sets and rough sets with respect to these set constructions is stressed. Namely, fuzzy set theory tries to directly capture the concept of vagueness by extending the range of membership relations from \(\{0,1\}\) to \([0,1]\), while rough set theory takes an indirect topological approach that uses subset systems to articulate the concept of vague set membership.
