A static solution is presented for the mixed boundary value problem at the interface between two dissimilar piezoelectric half-planes where a debonded conducting rigid line inclusion is embedded. The upper surface of the inclusion is fully debonded to the piezoelectric continuum. All physical quantities are taken to be discontinuous across the interface defect. The standard Stroh complex-variable approach is used for the solution. The distributions of stress, strain and electric fields on the interface and the jumps in the displacements and in the electric potential are obtained. The stress singularities at the inclusion tips are given. Further, various forms of interface defects are treated. Sample numerical examples are presented for the combination of several piezoelectric materials. The paper that fully excludes the dynamic effects is finely writetn, and it appeals to theoretically oriented researchers working in the area of fracture mechanics of piezoelectric materials.
