Let \(G\) be a compact, connected, simply connected Lie group with unit \(e\). Denote by \(\Lambda G\) the space of free loops on \(G\) and by \(\Omega G\) the space of based loops on \(G\) with base point \(e\). \(\Lambda G\) is a topological group and \(\Omega G\) is a closed normal subgroup. We can define a map \(Ad : G \times \Omega G \to \Omega G\) by \(Ad (g,l) (t) = gl(t) g^{-1}\). The author computes the cohomological structures of the space associated with the Dwyer-Wilkerson complex B. The main result is deduced from these computations. The non-triviality of the adjoint map \(Ad\) or the commutator map \(\Gamma : G \times \Omega G \to \Omega G\) defined by \(\Gamma (g,l) = gl(t) g^{-1} l(t)^{-1}\) is a reflection of some geometrical properties of \(G\) and has connections with other invariants like Whitehead and Samelson products. The formulas for \(Ad^*\) and \(\Gamma^*\) are computed.
