For integers \(m,n\geq 1\) and an odd prime \(p\) let \(P_{m,n}\) be a certain non-abelian central extension of \(C_{p^m}\times C_{p^n}\) by \(C_p\). (Here \(C_k\) denotes the cyclic group of order \(k\).) The author determines the \(\text{mod }p\) cohomology rings of the groups \(P_{m,n}\). She uses the Lyndon-Hochschild-Serre spectral sequence (which collapses at \(E_3\)) together with certain triple Massey products to determine generators and relations for these rings. As a surprise it turns out that for \(m,n>1\) all these cohomology rings are isomorphic although the groups do not even have the same order. In the last chapter, generators for the integral cohomology rings of the groups \(P_{m,n}\) are given but the list of relations is not known to be complete.
