The author constructs a continuous family of irreducible modules for toroidal algebras. Some of these prove to be unitarizable and integrable; these lift to the associated group. A description is given of the subquotients of the modules constructed via vertex operators in terms of certain iterated loop modules twisted by automorphisms of the toroidal algebra.
