The paper deals with the identification of parameters in a model introduced earlier by the authors. The model is based on the energy form \({\mathcal E}(W)\) for the Mindlin-Timoshenko plate equation. The potential form is stronger than the \(H^1\)-norm, and the kinetic energy is equivalent to the \(L^2\)-norm. The set \(Q\) of admissible parameters is embedded in a suitable Hilbert space, and continuity properties of the mapping from \(Q\) to the corresponding spectra of eigenvalues are established. The fundamental analysis is carried out carefully, but there are several annoying misprints, e.g. the region \(\mathcal R\) (not \(R\)) in the equations (1.1) and (2.1).
