The authors prove the energy identity and neckless property during blowing up of a sequence of maps whose tension fields are bounded in \(L^p\) for some \(p\geq\frac{6}{5}\), for a general target manifold. The proof uses delicate analysis on the difference between the normal and tangential energies.
