\textit{M.~Artin} showed in [Grothendieck topologies. Cambridge, Mass.: Harvard University (1962; Zbl 0208.48701)] that for \(C\) a smooth connected curve over an algebraically closed field, the étale cohomology groups \(H_{\text{ét}}^r(C,\mathbb{G}_m)\) vanish for \(r > 1\). The article under review is concerned with the study of these cohomology groups when \(C\) is replaced by a smooth tame Deligne-Mumford stack \(X\) of dimension \(1\). The main result is an exact sequence relating \(H_{\text{ét}}^r(X,\mathbb{G}_m)\) to the cohomology of the stabilizer groups of points of \(X\). The author deduces a complete description of \(H_{\text{ét}}^r(X,\mathbb{G}_m)\) from this when (1) the stabilizers of the closed points of \(X\) are cyclic; or (2) \(X\) is an orbicurve or, more generally, a twisted nodal curve, which recovers a result of \textit{A.~Chiodo} [Ann. Inst. Fourier 58, No. 5, 1635--1689 (2008; Zbl 1179.14028)] via a different method. The author also deduces further partial results when the map from \(X\) to the associated orbicurve is a trivial gerbe.
