The author surveys the theory and application of some block spaces on the unit sphere introduced by Y. Jiang and the author. The author gives a review about its applications on the singular integral and related operators with rough kernels. Their results are original and can give some deep improvement of classical results about singular integral and related operators with rough kernels.
