On a plus-construction for algebras over an operad (Q1969706): Difference between revisions

In analogy with Quillen's plus-construction for connected \(CW\)-complexes with perfect fundamental group, cf. \textit{D. Quillen} [Actes Congr. internat. Math. 1970, 2, 47-51 (1971; Zbl 0225.18011)], the author defines a plus-construction for graded differential \(\mathcal P\)-algebras over a unital algebraic operad \(\mathcal P\), generalizing a construction of \textit{T. Pirashvili} for simplicial Lie algebras [Tr. Tbilis. Mat. Inst. Razmadze 78, 44-78 (1986; Zbl 0616.55010)]. This leads to a new interpretation of the cyclic homology of an associative algebra \(A\) as the homotopy of the plus-construction \(gl(A)^+\) in the category of Lie algebras. The same construction carried out in the category of Leibniz algebras yields the Hochschild homology of \(A\).
