\(N=2\) superconformal nets (Q2018322): Difference between revisions

In recent years, much attention has been paid to superconformal field theory in two-dimensional spacetime. One reason is that the operator algebraic approach to general quantum field theory has been very successful within this framework. Also Connes noncommutative approach is algebraic and so there are various different geometrically based approaches to conformal field theory, ultimately leading to the study of local conformal nets of von Neumann algebras. As a first step, the first author et al. published in 2008 their view and analysis of the structure and classification of \(N=1\) superconformal nets of von Neumann algebras, combining conformal invariance and supersymmetry [Ann. Henri Poincaré 9, No. 6, 1069--1121 (2008; Zbl 1154.81023)]. The present paper uses an operator algebraic approach to \(N=2\) chiral conformal field theory within the framework of noncommutative geometry. A key result is the coset identification for \(N=2\) super-Virasoro nets with \(c<3\), followed by a classication of \(N=2\) superconformal nets with \(c>3\). These nets are associated with nets of spectral triples and JLO cocycles, indes pairings, and Ramond sectors for the \(N=2\) super-Virasoro nets.
