This long paper deals with a description of surjective isometries of continuously differentiable functions on \([0,1]\) valued in a complex uniform algebra on a compact Hausdorff space. For a compact set \(D \subset [0,1]\times[0,1]\) such that for both coordinate projections \(\pi_1(D) = [0,1]=\pi_2(D)\), consider the norm \(\|F\|_D = \sup_{(t_1,t_2 ) \in D} \{\|F(t_1)\|+\|F'(t_2)\|\}\). This is the norm under consideration. The idea is to represent the vector-valued function space isometrically as a scalar-valued function space which separates points of an appropriate product compact space, and then to work with this space, by identifying extreme points of the dual unit ball and shift the given isometry to this setup.
