Dirichlet heat kernel is the fundamental solution of the heat equation with zero exterior conditions, which plays an important role in the study of Cauchy or Poisson problems with Dirichlet conditions. The authors studied symmetric \(\alpha\)-symmetric processes on (unbounded) horn-shaped regions which are not-uniformly \(C^{1,1}\) near infinity, and established two-sided Dirichlet heat kernel estimates of such processes for all time. The main result covers the case that the associated Dirichlet semigroup is not intrinsically ultracontractive. An important observation is that even when the associated Dirichlet semigroup is intrinsically ultracontractive, the so-called Varopoulos-type estimates do not hold in general for symmetric stable processes on horn-shaped regions.
