The author presents an Atiyah-Hirzebruch type spectral sequence to compute the generalised homology of the topological Hochschild homology spectrum of a commutative \(S\)-algebra \(A\) with respect to a connective commutative \(A\)-algebra \(B\), generalising an earlier spectral sequence of \textit{M. Brun} [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 148, No. 1, 29--76 (2000; Zbl 0951.19001)]. She then uses this new tool to recompute the \(V(1)\)-homotopy of the topological Hochschild homology spectrum of the \(p\)-completed connective complex \(K\)-theory spectrum at large primes \(p\), which was first computed by \textit{C. Ausoni} [Am. J. Math. 127, No. 6, 1261--1313 (2005; Zbl 1107.55006)] using the Bökstedt spectral sequence. In a more recent paper [Ann. \(K\)-Theory 6, No. 1, 29--96 (2021; Zbl 1475.19002)], the author applies the strategy to compute the \(V(1)\)-homotopy of the topological Hochschild homology spectrum of the algebraic \(K\)-theory spectrum of finite fields in some instances.
