The paper addresses a linearized degenerate parabolic equation with a fixed point argument. First, the authors give preliminary assumptions and an overview of the paper. Then, a linear problem is presented and a new Carleman inequality for the adjoint system is proved. In the final section, the authors prove the main result that is the null controllability property of a degenerate semilinear parabolic equation with first order terms.
