In this article, the authors propose a two-level stabilized nonconforming finite element method for the Stokes equations which uses the nonconforming and confirming piecewise linear polynomial approximations for the velocity and pressure, respectively. The present method combines the stabilized finite element with the two-level discretization for solving the two-dimensional Stokes problem. The method has the same order of convergence rate as the usual stabilized finite element method. There is no need to establish a coarse-to-fine intergrid operator, because of the relationship between the coarse and fine meshes. Therefore, the proposed method is efficient and simple. Numerical experiments are carried out to validate the theoretical findings.
