The book ``The realization problem for positive and fractional systems'' by T. Kaczorek and L. Sajewski is a nice system theory textbook related to recently heavily discussed, however mostly from the theoretical standpoint, positive and fractional systems. In the book, there is considered in details the state-space realization problem for positive and/or fractional systems given in the continuous or discrete form and also for the regular or descriptor (singular) case. Some stability issues are also presented. Finally, the continuous - discrete 2D systems are also discussed. The book is well, clearly written and hence is easy to follow for the reader. There are many illustrating examples. The book is recommended for researchers and students who are interested in the modern system theory.
