The author continues his study of the mod 2 cohomology of a finite H- space X. It is assumed that X is simply connected and that the Pontryagin ring is associative. The results are of the same nature as E. Thomas' classical results for the primitively generated cohomology. It shows among other facts that 2 torsion in the integral cohomology is always simple (i.e. of order 2) and arises from a nonzero square of an odd dimensional mod 2 cohomology class.
