Let \(A_1, A_2, \dots, A_n\) be \(k \times k\) Hermitian positive definite matrices and let \(w=(w_1,w_2, \dots, w_n)^T \in \mathbb{R}^n\) be a weight vector (\(w_i >0\) for each \(i\) and \(\sum_{i=1}^n w_i=1\)). Suppose that \(g:(0,\infty) \rightarrow \mathbb{R}\) is an operator monotone function satisfying \(g(1)=0\) and \(g'(1)=1\). A~\textit{generalized Karcher mean} is the unique solution of the operator equation \[ \sum_{i=1}^n w_i\ g(X^{-\frac{1}{2}}A_iX^{-\frac{1}{2}})=0. \] The authors prove several relations for this mean. Specifically, the information monotonicity of this mean, when filtered through operator monotone functions and positive linear maps, is shown.
