The authors generalize previous results by showing that any hyperpolar action of a compact connected Lie group on a symmetric space of compact type is Cohen-Macaulay. The proof relies essentially on the classification of hyperploar actions obtained by \textit{A. Kollross} [Transform. Groups 22, No. 1, 207--228 (2017; Zbl 1383.53041)].
