The authors aim for edge-to-edge tilings of the Euclidean plane that are based on a substitution rule and whose set of prototiles consists of triangles with inner angles being integer multiples of \(\pi/n\). A particular emphasis is on tilings with \(n\)-fold rotational symmetry. The search was done by a computer algorithm and yielded, in particular, several new tilings with sevenfold rotational symmetry. Tilings with elevenfold rotational symmetry have not been detected.
