Around 1970, \textit{B. B. Mandelbrot} [The fractal geometry of nature. Rev. ed. of ``Fractals'', 1977. San Francisco: W. H. Freeman and Company (1982; Zbl 0504.28001)] made a scintillating discovery that there exist a number of examples of fractional dimension in nature. On the basis of this observation, an intensive study on fractional dynamics was initiated and a large number of publications on fractional Lagrangian mechanics, fractional Hamiltonian mechanics, fractional dynamics of non-holonomic system, fractional generalized Hamiltonian mechanics ([\textit{V. E. Tarasov}, Fractional dynamics. Applications of fractional calculus to dynamics of particles, fields and media. Berlin: Springer; Beijing: Higher Education Press (2010; Zbl 1214.81004); \textit{N. Laskin}, ``Fractional Schrödinger equation'', Phys. Rev. E 66, 056108 (2002; \url{doi:10.1103/PhysRevE.66.056108})], etc.) began to come out. In the sequel, an endeavor to study the Lorentz-Dirac equation in the framework of fractional calculus is made by the authors in this paper. The fractional Lorentz-Dirac model based on the fractional generalized Hamiltonian method is presented and it is shown that, for a particular case, their model reduces to the standard Lorentz-Dirac model. Then the dynamical behavior of this model is explored and it is exhibited that their model possesses Lie algebraic structure and satisfies the generalized Poisson conservation law. In the course of this study, many conserved quantities possessed by the fractional Lorentz-Dirac model are derived and it is brought to notice how one can obtain Poisson conserved quantities. Further, by means of these conserved quantities, a series of integral invariants of the fractional Lorentz-Dirac model is constructed. In the end, the stability for manifolds of equilibrium state of the fractional Lorentz-Dirac model is largely studied.
