The main result of the paper under review is the classification of all connected simply connected Cartan schemes for which the real roots form a finite irreducible root system, so-called finite Cartan schemes, of arbitrary rank. The authors have shown in [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 364, No. 3, 1369--1393 (2012; Zbl 1246.20037)] that crystallographic arrangements can be described axiomatically as finite Cartan schemes, so that the mentioned result entails the classification of all crystallographic arrangements. In the proof of the main result the authors use their previous classification results for rank two and three in [Algebra Number Theory 3, No. 3, 317--340 (2009; Zbl 1181.20035)], [loc. cit.].
