The authors conduct a systematic study of a certain type of CR-hypersurfaces of infinite type in \(\mathbb C^2\). The so-called 1-nonminimal hypersurfaces are natural objects to start the study of the infinite type. The authors introduce the notion of ruled hypersurfaces, which replace the model hypersurfaces from the finite type case. A normal form for such ruled hypersurfaces is constructed and applied to classify the ruled hypersurfaces according to the dimension of their symmetry algebras and to a construction of a normal form for 1-nonminimal hypersurfaces.
