Let \(\det_\zeta (A)\) be the \(\zeta\)-regularized determinant of a positive invertible elliptic selfadjoint pseudodifferential operator \(A\) of positive order acting on smooth sections of a finite-dimensional vector bundle over a compact manifold without boundary. \(\det_\zeta (A)\) is defined using the spectral zeta function of \(A\). The authors consider \(n\) commuting operators of orders \(m_1,\dots ,m_n\) and study the anomaly \[ M_n(A_1,\dots ,A_n)=\frac{\det_\zeta (\prod\limits_{i=1}^n A_i)}{\prod\limits_{i=1}^n\det_\zeta (A_i)},\quad n\geq 2. \] The main result is the identity \[ M_n(A_1,\dots ,A_n)^{m_1+\dots +m_n}=\prod\limits_{1\leq i<j\leq n}M_2(A_i,A_j)^{m_i+m_j}. \]
