Summary: Some common fixed point theorems for a pair of nonself-mappings in complete metrically convex metric spaces are proved by altering distances between the points, which generalize earlier results due to \textit{M. D. Khan} and \textit{B. Bharadwaj} (2001), \textit{M. S. Khan, H. K. Pathak} and \textit{M. D. Khan} (2000), \textit{R. M. Bianchini} (1972), \textit{S. K. Chatterjea} (1972), and others. Some related results are also discussed besides furnishing an illustrative example.
