    In a previous paper [\textit{S. Bouc}, J. Algebra 279, No. 1, 180--190 (2004; Zbl 1059.19001)], the first author introduced a natural transformation of biset functors over \(p\)-groups \(\Psi \colon B^*\rightarrow D^{\Omega}\), where \(B^*\) is the dual of the Burnside ring functor and \(D^{\Omega}\) is the functor for the subgroup of the Dade group generated by relative syzygies. The authors show that the kernel of \(\Psi_P\) (\(P\) a \(p\)-group) can be naturally identified with the subset of superclass functions satisfying the Borel-Smith conditions. Here a superclass function on \(P\) is a function from the set of subgroups of \(P\) to the integers which is constant on the conjugacy classes. In addition, the kernel of the mod \(2\) reduction of \(\Psi\) is identified with the functor \(B^{\times}\) of units of the Burnside ring.
