The authors investigate the asymptotic behavior of oscillatory integrals at infinity using the Newton polyhedra of the phase \(f\) and the amplitude \(\phi \chi\). The authors give an estimate for the oscillation index \(\beta (f,\phi)\) using the Newton distance \(d(f,\phi)\). They also study properties of the poles of local zeta functions.
