In this paper, characterizations of right (left) regular, regular and intraregular ordered semigroups in terms of fuzzy sets are given. A p.o. semigroup \((S,\cdot,\leq)\) is right regular if for each \(a\in S\), \(a\leq a^2x\) for some \(x\in S\); regular if \(a\leq axa\) for some \(x\in S\), and intraregular if \(a\leq xa^2y\) for some \(x,y\in S\). A fuzzy subset of \((S,\cdot,\leq)\) is a mapping \(f:S\to[0,1]\), the closed interval of real numbers; in particular, \(1:S\to[0,1]\) is given by \(1(x)=1\) for all \(x\in S\). Defining a composition and a partial order of fuzzy subsets in an appropriate way, it is shown that \((S,\cdot,\leq)\) is right regular iff \(f\subseteq f^2\circ 1\); regular iff \(f\subseteq f\circ 1\circ f\), and intraregular iff \(f\subseteq 1\circ f^2\circ 1\), for each fuzzy subset \(f\) of \(S\). (Caution: The definition of fuzzy subset (p.~15) is not clear; also \(f^2\) should be defined as \(f\circ f\).)
