This paper is concerned with solutions and supersolutions of variable exponent equations of the form \(\mathrm{div}(p(x)\left| \nabla u\right| ^{p(x)-2}\nabla u)=0\), where \(\inf p>1\) and \(\sup p<\infty \). Among other things, the authors show that the associated obstacle problem with continuous obstacle has continuous solution, obtain limit results for sequences of supersolutions, and establish integrability properties of \(p(\cdot )\)-superharmonic functions.
