Observations on some cardinality bounds (Q2401573): Difference between revisions

For a space \(X\) let \(F(X)\) denote the supremum of the cardinalities of free sequences in \(X\) and \(lL(X)\) the linearly Lindelöf degree. Various bounds on \(|X|\) are found, amongst them the following. \(|X|\leq2^\kappa\) if \(\kappa=L(X)F(X)\) satisfies \(\psi(X)\leq 2^\kappa\), and \(X\) is \(T_1\) and \(\kappa\)-tame. \(|X|\leq 2^{lL(X)F(X)\psi(X)}\) if \(X\) is Tychonoff. \(|X|\leq\mathfrak c\) under \(2^{<\mathfrak c}=\mathfrak c\) or \(\mathfrak c<\aleph_\omega\) if \(X\) is Hausdorff, sequential and initially \(\mathfrak c\) linearly Lindelöf. \(|X|\leq\mathfrak c\) under \(2^{<\mathfrak c}=\mathfrak c\) if \(X\) is normal, sequential and linearly H-closed with \(\chi(X)\leq\mathfrak c\).
