The paper compares different realizations of the associahedron with facet normal vectors given by small integer coordinates, usually \(0\) or \(\pm 1\). Two different ways of constructing exponential families of realizations of the \(n\)-dimensional associahedron with normal vectors in \(\{0,\pm 1\}^n\) are analyzed. In particular, the associahedra in these families are classified modulo linear equivalence of their normal fans. The first type of construction was discovered in [\textit{C. Hohlweg}, \textit{C. Lange}, Discrete Comput. Geom. 37, No. 4, 517--543 (2007; Zbl 1125.52011)], and the second by the second author in [``Catalan many associahedra'', lecture at the Kolloquium über Kombinatorik (KolKom04), Magdeburg, November 2004].
