The main result of this paper is the following theorem: Let \(G\) be a group with all subgroups subnormal and suppose that the torsion subgroup of \(G\) is a \(\pi\)-group, where \(\pi\) is a finite set of primes. Then \(G\) is nilpotent-by-divisible Chernikov. This seems to be a first step towards the conjecture that a group with all subgroups subnormal is nilpotent-by-finite rank. The proofs involve many interesting, delicate arguments.
