The authors consider Hammerstein integral equations of Fredholm type in general Banach spaces. The operators involved are chosen as a linear combination of classical Hammerstein operators. Assuming the existence of a solution and a few other technical conditions, they develop a certain iterative scheme and show that this scheme converges strongly towards a solution of the equation.
