Melnikov theory for nonlinear implicit ODEs (Q2436996): Difference between revisions

The authors use dynamical system methods and Melnikov theory to investigate small perturbations of some implicit differential equations. Under the assumption that a Melnikove like condition holds, they establish persistence of such orbits connecting singularities in finite time. The paper has five parts. In Section 2, the authors give a deeper explanation of the main assumptions; the main existence result is proved in Section 3. In Section 4, a relationship between the Melnikov function and an adjoint linear problem is explained. Several roughness theorems are given in Section 5. Some remarks are collected in the last section.
