The authors study the asymptotic behavior of the first order delay dynamic equation \[ x^\Delta(t) + p(t) x(t-\tau(t)) = 0. \] After a short survey of the theory of time scales that extends and unifies ordinary differential and difference calculus, they provide sufficient conditions for the zero solution to be uniformly (asymptotically) stable. These conditions on the function \(p\) involve the graininess function \(\mu\), hence give some insight into discrepancies arising from the different time scales.
