The introduction of a small delay into dynamical systems described by differential equations changes the behavior of motions. When studying such systems, methods of qualitative theory of differential equations are used. In the present paper, authors analyze the influence of a small delay on periodic oscillations in a one-degree-of-freedom conservative system by methods of perturbation theory for essentially nonlinear systems. The role of a nonconservative perturbation is played by the delay.
