The authors propose a new regularization direct method for solving a combined inverse problem for the heat conduction equation with time-dependent thermal conductivity. The inverse problem consists of combining the side ways heat problem with the backward heat problem. The method proposed is based on a finite difference method. The regularization is achieved by applying a suitable relaxation parameter. The method inverts well exact data, but no noise in the input data measurement is tested. There are many numerical methods which work well for exact data, but they may be useless for inverting noisy data.
