    The authors consider the Oseen system \[ -\Delta u+ k{\partial u\over\partial x_1}+\nabla\pi= f,\qquad \text{div\,}u= h \] in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) \((n\geq 2)\) and investigate the well-posedness of the problem in Sobolev spaces containing the weight \(\langle x\rangle= \sqrt{1+|x|^2}\). One of their main results says that the above system has a solution \((u,\pi)\) satisfying \[ \begin{alignedat}{2} &\langle x\rangle^{|\mu|-m-2} D^\mu u\in L^p(\mathbb{R}^n, \mathbb{R}^n),&\qquad &|\mu|\leq m+2,\\ &\langle x\rangle^{|\mu|-m-1} D^\mu\pi\in L^p(\mathbb{R}^n),&\qquad &|\mu|\leq m+1,\\ \text{provided that} &\langle x\rangle^{|\mu|-m} D^\mu f\in L^p(\mathbb{R}^n, \mathbb{R}^n),&\qquad &|\mu|\leq m,\\ &\langle x\rangle^{|\mu|-m-1} D^\mu h\in L^p(\mathbb{R}^n), &\qquad &|\mu|\leq m+1. \end{alignedat} \] The solution is unique up to a class of polynomials. A crucial ingredient of the proof is a careful analysis of a scalar Oseen equation.
