The authors study affine immersions \(M^2\to\mathbb{R}^3\) for which the Blaschke metric \(h\) is a positive definite complete flat metric. Their main result states that if such an immersion \(M\) satisfies the condition \[ \text{trace}_h (\nabla S)+\mu\text{\,grad}_h(J)=0, \] \(\nabla\) induced connection, \(S\) shape operator, \(J\) Pick invariant and \(\mu=\text{const}\), then \(M\) must be affine congruent to either the elliptic paraboloid, the surface \(x_1x_2x_3=1\) or the surface \[ x(u, v)= \frac{-1}{\sqrt 3}\left(\text{cosh}^{\tfrac 13}(3u)\text{cosh} (\sqrt 3v),\;\text{cosh}^{\tfrac 13}(3u)\text{sinh}(\sqrt 3v),\int^u_0 \text{cosh}^{-\tfrac 23}(3t)dt\right). \] Moreover, this tensorial condition is fulfilled for all known examples, including the noncomplete ones. The proof applies Lelieuvre's formula for the affine conormal map.
