Let \(X\) be a \(C^1\) vector field on a compact boundaryless \(n\)-manifold \(M\), \(n\geq 3\). A compact invariant set \(\Lambda\) of \(X\) is: 1. \(C^1\) robustly transitive if it is isolated and exhibits an isolating block \(U\) such that the continuation \(\cap_{t\in I\!\! R}Y_t(U)\) is a nontrivial transitive set of \(Y\), for every \(C^1\) vector field \(Y\) that is \(C^1\) close to \(X\). 2. Strongly homogeneous if there is an integer Ind\((\Lambda)\) such that the dimension of the stable subbundle of every hyperbolic periodic orbit close to \(\Lambda\) of every \(C^1\) vector field \(Y\) that is \(C^1\) close to \(X\) is Ind\((\Lambda)\). 3. Singular-hyperbolic if it has hyperbolic singularities and is partially hyperbolic with volume-expanding central subbundle. It was proved for \(n=3\) that a \(C^1\) robustly transitive set with singularities is a singular-hyperbolic set up to flow-reversing [\textit{C. A. Morales, M. J. Pacifico} and \textit{E. R. Pujals}, Ann. Math. (2) 160, No. 2, 375--432 (2004; Zbl 1071.37022)] ([MPP] for short). In the paper under review the authors prove the following partial generalization of [MPP]: Theorem A: Let \(\Lambda\) be a strongly homogeneous \(C^1\) robustly transitive set with singularities, all hyperbolic, of a \(C^1\) vector field \(X\) in \(M\). If the dimension of the stable subbundle at the singularities is bigger than Ind\((\Lambda)\), then \(\Lambda\) is a partially hyperbolic set of \(X\). To prove Theorem A the authors extend the so-called Poincaré flow from regular to singular orbits of the vector field. However, they don't explain why such an extension is necessary to obtain the result. Theorem A was completed recently by R. Metzger and the reviewer proving that the robustly transitive sets in that theorem are not only partially hyperbolic but also sectional-hyperbolic sets, i.e., their singularities are hyperbolic and the derivative of the flow expands area of rectangles along the central subbundle [\textit{R. Metzger} and \textit{C. A. Morales}, Sectional-hyperbolic systems, Preprint 2005, on web http://www.preprint.impa.br]. In particular, these sets are singular-hyperbolic sets as well. This represents another generalization of [MPP] to the higher-dimensional case \(n\geq 3\).
