The author surveys some equivariant versions of real and complex connective K-theory with coefficient ring \(ku_* = \mathbb Z[v]\) for the Bott element \(v\) of degree 2, and the corresponding real counterpart \(ko\). The author uses infinite loop space theory, bundle theory or truncated periodic K-theory. He explains also the connection of these theories with formal group laws and constructions of the cohomology theory.
