In a preprint [A Mayer-Vietoris principle for the instanton homology], the author gave a Mayer-Vietoris principle for the integer graded Floer homology for connected sums of homology \(3\)-spheres. In this paper, the principle, together with the Fintushel-Stern spectral sequence, is applied to compute \(\widetilde{HF}(\Sigma \, \#\, (-\Sigma))\), where \(\Sigma\) is the Poincaré homology \(3\)-sphere.
