Let \(\mathbb H\) be a Hilbert space, \(M\subset B(\mathbb H)\) be a von Neumann algebra and \(A\in M\). It is proved that hyperinvariant spaces of the kind \(p\mathbb H\) of the operator \(A\), where \(p\in M\) is a projection, do not depend on a representation of the algebra \(M\). The notion of \(B\)-circular operator is introduced and discussed. It is shown that a large class of \(L^\infty([0,1])\)-circular operators have nontrivial hyperinvariant subspaces and that another large class of them can be embedded in the free group factor \(L(\mathbb F_3)\).
