Die Gleichung (1) \(x^y = y^x\) besitzt neben der trivialen Lösung \(x = y\) noch die folgende: \[ x=r^{\tfrac{1}{r-1}}, \quad y=r^{\tfrac{r}{r-1}},\quad r\neq0; \] ihr Kurvenbild ist für \(r \geqq0\) eine monoton fallende Kurve des 1. Quadranten mit den Asymptoten \(x =1\) und \(y =1\), die durch \((e,e)\) läuft.
