The authors prove by elementary (but not easy) arguments that \[ \Biggl| \sum_{d\leq x,(d,r)=1} \mu(d)/d^{1+\varepsilon}\Biggr|\leq 1+\varepsilon \] for any \(r\geq 1\) and \(\varepsilon\geq 0\). Here \(\mu\) stands for the Möbius function. More general and similar results are also pointed out. Among the interesting open questions we quote the following: Is it true that for \[ S(x,r)= \sum_{d\leq x,(d,r)= 1} {\mu(d)\over d}\log{x\over d} \] one has \(S(x,r)\geq 0\) or \(S(x,r)\leq r/\varphi+1\) for any \(x\geq 1\) and \(r\geq 1\)?
