This paper deals with the study of a Ginzburg-Landau type model with magnetic field and temperature variables. The associated evolution equation is interpreted as a balance equation for the order structure and it is argued that the second law of thermodynamics is satisfied. The authors also establish the existence and uniqueness of solutions to the non-isothermal Ginzburg-Landau equations. The existence of weak solutions in a bounded time interval is established by applying Galerkin's technique. Finally, by means of energy estimates, it is obtained the existence of global solutions in time, as well as additional regularity properties of these solutions.
