The paper is a continuation of the papers published earlier by the same authors [see J. Comput. Appl. Math. 153, 191--199 (2003; Zbl 1020.44010), and ETNA, Electron. Trans. Numer. Anal. 24, 79--87 (2006; Zbl 1160.42308)]. They consider the concepts of a self-similar measure and iterated function system of similarities (a family of contractive similarity maps defined on a complete metric space) with probabilities. A fixed point theorem for the moment matrices of the self-similar measure laying on the unit ball, and finally, on the whole complex plane is proved. Based on these results, an algorithm for a numerical approximation of the self-similar moment matrix of the measure, is derived. This algorithm is faster than the explicit formula given by the authors in a previous paper. Two numerical examples that show the efficiency of the algorithm are performed.
