Let \(g\) be an unbounded Banach-valued Bochner measurable function on the open unit disk \(\mathbb{D}\) of the complex plane. The author gives conditions on the growth and essential support of \(g\), so that the \(\bar{\partial}\)-equation \(\frac{\partial G}{\partial\bar{z}}=g\) has a bounded solution \(G\) given by a continuous linear operator. More precisely, let \(K\subset\mathbb{D}\) be a Lebesgue measurable set and \(X\) be a complex Banach space. Two \(X\)-valued functions on \(\mathbb{D}\) are said to be equivalent if they coincide a.e. on \(\mathbb{D}\). The complex Banach space \(L^\infty(K,X)\) consists of equivalence classes of Bochner measurable essentially bounded functions \(f\) from \(\mathbb{D}\) to \(X\) equal 0 a.e. on \(\mathbb{D} \setminus K\). In this very interesting paper, the author takes \(g(z):=f (z)/(1-|z|^2)\), where \(f\in L^\infty(K,X)\), and proves that for a certain class of sets \(K\) the corresponding \(\bar{\partial}\)-equation has a weak solution \(F\in L^\infty(\mathbb{D},X)\), i.e., such that for every \(C^\infty\) function \(\rho\) with compact support in \(\mathbb{D}\) \[ \iint_{\mathbb{D}}F(z)\,\frac{\partial\rho(z)}{\partial\bar{z}}\, dz \wedge d\bar{z}= - \iint_{\mathbb{D}}\frac{f(z)}{1-|z|^2}\,\rho(z)\, dz\wedge d\bar{z}, \] given by a bounded linear operator from \(L^\infty(K , X)\) to \(L^\infty(\mathbb{D}, X)\). This \(\bar{\partial}\)-equation plays an essential role in the area of the Banach-valued corona problem for the algebra \(H^\infty(\mathbb{D},A)\) of bounded holomorphic functions on \(\mathbb{D}\) with values in a complex commutative unital Banach algebra \(A\), so that the results obtained in this paper are applicable to that area.
